The 18-inch cutter suction dredger features a hydraulic system from Germany. The entire hydraulic system is composed of a hydraulic pump, hydraulic pipelines, hydraulic valves, and hydraulic motors. This comprehensive hydraulic system is utilized for the anchor boom, lifting winch, swing winch, cutter head, and other components.
Configuration:
All winches are used for lifting and swinging the cutter ladder.
Function: The front-line "excavator bucket," using rotating teeth to cut and break up underwater soil, sand, and rock.Typically driven by the Hydraulic System (powered by the Main Engine or Auxiliary Engine). The fragmented material is then sucked up by the Slurry Pump.

The sand pump from Shijiazhuang Industrial Sand Pump Factory is the standard configuration for my 18-inch cutter suction dredger. The main pump consists of a pump shell, pump impeller, and other components.
Function: The "core" of the entire transport system, acting as a powerful centrifugal pump. It creates a vacuum at the suction inlet to draw in the water-soil mixture (slurry) from the cutter head. Its impeller then generates immense pressure to discharge the slurry over long distances (kilometers) to the disposal area.It is the primary consumer of the Main Engine's power, directly driven by it via the Gearbox.
The dredgers will use the best parts from world-renowned brands, including Cumins engines, Shijiazhuang pumps, Hangzhou gearboxes, and Siemens PLC control systems.
The hydraulic system is one of the most crucial components of cutter suction dredgers. The cutter head, ladder winch, swing winches, and spud or spud carriage are driven by hydraulic motors, ensuring higher efficiency and durability.
